Network effects can expand and improve AI (or anything), but I would still view it as much less fundamentally dependant on network effects as something like bitcoin. A relatively small group of people can benefit from AI if they have the money to power it. A relatively small group of bitcoin users wouldn't mean anything. It's much more proportional to how many people in the world are part of its network.
