After Knots I wandered, curious and free, Exploring the forks of the blockchain sea. But home calls softly, with a steady roar, I return at last... to Bitcoin Core. Blocks fall in line, like a familiar song, A rhythm of code where I truly belong. Knots had their thrill, a detour, a lore, Yet nothing feels right like Bitcoin Core.

When I switched to Knots, it happened as part of a server rebuild. I had to renew everything from scratch, and at the same time the OP_RETURN discussion started. I liked, and still like, that there is another implementation, and I’m convinced there need to be more. So I was curious and installed Knots. However, in the case of Knots, I do worry not only that there is just one maintainer behind the software, but also that it’s Luke 😂. I don’t share many of his quirks, the events surrounding the loss of his Bitcoin are strange, and I find his stance on censoring Ordinals worthy of criticism. Bitcoin should be and remain censorship-resistant, whether we like the transactions or not. So the experiment is now over, and I realize I feel safer knowing that multiple developers stand behind Core and that decisions are negotiated. v30 can be criticized, and I’ll keep an eye on it. Until then, Core 29.0 is running.
