Personally, I think that monero might be worth considering as the alt coins.
The fact that you can't buy it on crypto exchanges tells me that the establishment sees it as a threat.
It's not a good store of value like Bitcoin, but as far as money that you spend, it's worth considering. The value comes directly from its use rather than speculation and wallstreet gamblers.
Litecoin and doge should also be worth considering as spendable currency.
Bitcoin is always going to be the best option for storing value but when it comes to spending money I think it's a good idea to consider those 3 as the only real "alt coins"
