I know somebody that just had to give up half of their bitcoin in a divorce. The wife knew about the bitcoin, and even though she initiated the divorce, that is how the settlement worked out. I guess the husband could have refused to give up his keys, but then what? As it was, the divorce was mostly smooth & 50/50.
