You can throw a banger of a wedding for 300+ reception for about 10k, granted that was more then a few years ago and we cut every corner we could but my Aunt who had a boat wedding (and is ALWAYS a one upper) conceded ours was better.

Is your family anything like mine? We show up for funerals, weddings, and parties. Don’t ever go into debt for a party, but don’t deprive them of a chance to celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime event.
