After a year of building, with 2,500+ people now using Clams Desktop, we're ready to share what we're working on. We started with Desktop. Now we're building the Bitcoin accounting layer. Let's explain ๐Ÿงต

Clams Desktop proved the demand for Bitcoin-native, local-first and private accounting software. Lightning node operators, individuals living on Bitcoin, small businesses all needed this. But we heard you. A desktop-only solution has limits.
We're rebuilding our core logic in Rust and packaging it as Clams Server. This is the accounting engine that will power everything. The result: massive performance gains for nodes with millions of transactions, memory safety, and a foundation we can scale to enterprise.
Clams server will power multiple interfaces. Coming in 2026: - Desktop app (rebuilt, faster, still free) - CLI for automation - REST API for integrations - MCP Server for conversational AI Work however you want. Command line, existing tools, or natural language.
The MCP server is what we're most excited about. Connect Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, or local AI models to your Bitcoin books. Ask "What was our routing revenue last quarter?" and get instant answers. Privacy-conscious? Run it locally with a local LLM.
We're building based on your feedback: โœ“ Bring your own node (Bitcoin + Electrum/Esplora) โœ“ Direct chat support built-in โœ“ Role-based access controls โœ“ Multi-currency support (starting with Euro)
Flexible deployment options we're working toward: - Desktop: Free for individuals/small biz, enterprise license available - Self-hosted: Commercial license, you control everything - Hosted: We run the infrastructure, you run your business
For accounting firms: Imagine your own dedicated Clams instance. Manage all clients in one dashboard. Granular permissions. Clients connect wallets, you generate reports and tax strategies. This is the workflow Bitcoin businesses need.
