What this shows is just how big of an impact there is from @Damus not implementing NIP-65. It’s by far the most popular nostr client on iOS, and until it implements NIP-65, nostr will continue to operate under this “must connect to a few huge centralized relays to get a proper experience” situation. That kind of nostr is *marginally* better than Mastodon when it comes to being decentralized. View quoted note →

History != discoverability. My counter narrative is that I like damus specifically because it’s one of the few remaining clients where you can actually control what relays you connect to. I’m all for clients implementing NIP-65 but I want to be able to turn off auto-gossip.
Yes if it was so centralized then this would have been an impactful event
