I love NostrPlebs and what they’re doing, but these services are not a “verification”. NIP-05 is meant to be an identification to tie your account to a specific domain. NostrPlebs gives you a checkmark, a searchable community, and adds friction (through sats) for the NIP-05 identification. This is great to help verify you’re a human, but it’s akin to the $8 blue checkmark on Twitter. Saylor wants the $1000 gold checkmark to verify he’s the real Saylor, because nobody would be willing to pay $1000 a month to scam people (unless they’re someone like Vitalik or SBF).
