everyone went to the chinese rednote app and they all said "I will happily give my data to china".
I don't see a spike in daily active users and no relays have gone down so I venture to say not many
It’s a sign of how much ppl don’t care about privacy and their data. Having privacy as a main selling point isn’t going to gain mass adoption.
Lol proof that its not about the features, it's just about who can give the opportunity to roll the dice and tap into potential reach and dopamine hits
I both want see influx of people and kinda don’t, as I like it cozy here for now.
did that search just now and can confirm. It can get weird for normies for sure... 😂
Very few people have heard of Nostr, and I don't believe there is an exact TikTok clone (Olas is close but it has photos too).(?)
Step one: don't. No one needs that kind of literal brainrot. Video hosting/serving and editing on the fly are way too much for current Nostr infrastructure which is very non-performant at best. There's also the matter of paying for the costs of the hardware back end and bandwidth. Just say no. Stop worrying about onboarding idiots who are more concerned with their dopamine hits than any sort of sanity let alone privacy. Don't make being stupid easy. Stupid should be hard.
As nice as it would be to see those numbers coming over, I agree. Please focus on long-term quality and not on near-term numbers.
