After my boat fire I brought the new yacht and immediately removed the perfectly well fitted wood burner. Paranoia after that. Still, it really adds some drama to your boating accident. Totally worth it.

Fires aboard boats are not fun for us either

I can imagine - the boys who dealt with my boat had to get some heavy kit out and get right up to my bow, to cut a bloody big hole in it - they were shooting water straight in and as the tide came up it eventually got in and dampened everything. Digging through afterwards was interesting. Had to cut it up with a couple of mates. I joke now, because it's five years ago, but it was traumatic.
