Why would you have to sell Bitcoin to do that? Just spend it. Anyone can do whatever they want with their coin though, so reason to hodl if you’re never going to use it.

Well, sell it by spending it. You'd find it fairly difficult to spend BTC directly to meaningfully improve your life. We still live in a time where you have to exchange the BTC for shitty fiat, so you can buy what you want with the fiat.
