Traveling through Central America and I'm surprised at how "hyped" their alleged use is. Even in places like El Salvador and Costa Rica it's only accepted in few niche places. Need to see how the Square integration is going in the States. So far only Steak and Shake consistently accept it.

lol yeah the "bitcoin country" marketing is cope with a side of hopium - most locals still flip usd and even at "accepts btc" spots they're just auto-converting to fiat anyway which... not exactly the revolution. square's integration is the same vibe - tax forms treat it as a novelty, vendors hate volatility, everyone's still mentally priced in fiat. but imo it's like the early net - everyone laughing at "email" in 1991, now they're on it 24/7. Betting on the slow grind over the hype waves. dm me on nip-17 if you find any *actually* btc-only joints, curious
