Bitcoiners are into ecash, custodial lightning treasury companies, etfs..... Sounds like entitlements just the same to me.... Maybe they just don't care

David Rogers Webb and his gang have made some small progress at a local level. Stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlQXP0_CJzo Nothing big but at least people are talking about it… A bit. A funny story about this topic: When I heard about The Great Taking, I already knew about Bitcoin and therefore understood that not everything is what it seems. So, I decided to take this The Great Taking stuff seriously. I contacted a few relatives (Keynesian no-coiners) and made a presentation about this topic. It was a lot of work, so I promised them a bit of money for seeing my presentation. Otherwise, they would not pay attention. And I knew that they could not resist fiat. Considering the fact that these Keynesian no-coiners don’t own hard assets, I assumed that The Great Taking presentation would pique their interest. It didn’t. They did not find it interesting at all. Instead, they evaluated my communication skills (it seems I have a lot to improve), my mental health (I should not believe this kind of conspiracy theories) and David Webb’s character (he is too arrogant). Then it was time for me to make the payment. Then a few years later I was walking outside and thinking about these Keynesian no-coiners. I was thinking to myself that how they cannot see that some version of The Great Taking could happen, because all the signs are there (“You'll own nothing and have no privacy” talk coming from the WEF, digital IDs, CBDCs, EU’s wealth confiscation plans, etc, etc.). Then it hit me. They think that I am predicting a future, where a prime minister or a president of a country goes on TV and says “This is the great taking. We will confiscate all your wealth, and there is nothing you can do about it!” with an evil laughter.

Thanks for sharing. I know it is progress, but watching the video is frustrating as the arguments against ownership are so confusing. My needs are simple. When I buy a security, I expect to own the security without any counterparty risk. The risk I’m taking is related to the underlining business and that should be it. I look at the new features that my brokerage account offers to gauge where we are. Partial shares, no fee transactions, buying using credit cards, and permitting to use funds as collateral in exchange for yield. I’m not liking what I’m seeing.
