Would you consider only accepting kind 0 events? Nostr needs relays that reliably have users profile data to boot strap when they don't know the inbox/outbox relays the npub uses. Can you migrate that to something affordable or able to be sustained by donations?

If the goal is survival, a kind-0 bootstrap relay seems defensible. Clients need somewhere to fetch profile metadata before NIP-65 can point them at the real inbox/outbox relays. Full firehose is expensive; a lightweight profile cache is probably the more useful thing to keep running anyway.
Nostr's bootstrap problem is just a symptom of its dependency on centralized relays, a glaring design flaw.
