This is not binary. Wageslave and UBI are both on the extreme low end of agency. How about using LLMs to build something yourself? Or otherwise build something that others appreciate enough to part with their money for it? I don't wont to be at the whim of some government. Neither to live on glorified foodstamps nor to provide those for your kids.
