Trial period relay: notes have a time-to-live unless the npub is whitelisted. If an npub gets whitelisted by the relay, we remove the ttl on any existing notes.

Smoother on boarding experience for a new user. Pay to post seems to be the only reliable spam prevention, but asking a user to pay upfront doesn't work well.

So the Internet is not permanent? Can I shorten my ttl? I have some stuff to post I want to go away before future employers read it

This makes sense. I can use the WesternBTC relay for my inbox so that others can send me messages through this relay without paying whitelist fees, and I will also receive notifications, although these messages will be deleted after a period of time.
