I'm beating feet locally, seriously hard, to help create a little free internet haven in the wild north, so that i dont have to use FB to get the weekly menu for my favorite bakery anymore. We already have some of the strongest digital privacy laws in the country and a tech nerd governor, so I've got ~2 years left to make a big enough impact to get myself into his office. It's a purely selfish and ambitious plan 😅 In between, I'll work with whoever from wherever else to help spread small social to other places or around specific things. I hope you do stop by a study session sometime. We always have fun and half the group is always tired.

No, edgeless is a malleable concept for communities and the software they run to accommedate their spaces, not a specific implementation or platform. I am working as a consultant and educator to bring the idea of edgeless communities to people who are looking for solutions to big tech problems. There are a few clients & relay options that enable the operator to create different types of sovereign environments for groups with variable degrees of openness. I introduce whichever pieces suit the community's needs, so long as it's operator-friendly enough for me to understand it and it fits some other loosely defined criteria. I hope one day for more to exist, but broadly, development around the concept of "community" has mostly been scoped to chat group style edges & interfaces. I introduce, that, too, it's just such a small niche when there's so much yet to be explored.

Thank you. I hope it works. So far it's been well received. I've only had one guy show reluctance, but he works as a social media manager, so what I'm presenting would either kill or wildly complicate his job 😅 He did offer to survey his clients for me though, so he wasn't completely in opposition. I wasn't online back when reddit was good, but i'd love to see more customizable experiments in that direction.
