No everyone is just lazy
Or cheap.
There aren't enough dependable DeCloud or DeStore companies. Have heard of Storj, FileCoin, etc, but nothing that's meaningfully caught up...
Lightning can be decentralized, but it is not.
#BitcoinCash is lightning FAST! 100% decentralized, works everytime, fees are less than 1ยข.
Think about that.
It's enough of a struggle teaching people who can barely afford internet about Bitcoin. Then you have to teach them Lightning!
Save in #Bitcoin , spend with #TheRealBitcoin
That's the one thing that I truly don't like about lightning or any other so-called bitcoin ' side chain ' that was created for cheaper and faster bitcoin txn. It wasn't really a truly ' freedom tech tool ' to begin with. The one that really considers to shout " Freeeeeeeeedoooooooom " was the main chain.
Is it really cheaper to pay monthly to run a cloud node versus putting AlbyHub on an old beater of a laptop?
it's not about being cheaper, it's about business continuity and disaster recovery.
Is the implication that most of the cloud-based nodes are businesses? I'd always assumed most nodes are run by plebs.
Plebs can run cloud nodes aswell. AlbyCloud, Voltage etc.
I'm all for both paying for services and running stuff yourself. It's all trade offs.
AWS goes down and everyone freaks out then forgets all about it until it happens again.
