Its a ways off for the twins, but i was wondering if any of yall have "baby traditions" around taking the baby home or early on? For example, im planning to buy a lotto ticket on the way home and also hand down the outfit we take them home in. Are there any quilters on nostr? #asknostr

Before kids, we had cats... Every cat we brought home had to get acclimatized, so it would first stay in the bathroom, then slowly discover the rest of the place and meet the other cats. So when we brought our kids home, they also had to stop in the bathroom. Symbolically, of course. That is our tradition for bringing home a newborn. Some might say we are weird, but we prefer the word avant-garde.

No baby traditions. Sorry. But, there is a tradition i started almost five years ago: annual hunting trips in the Catskills up at my uncle's estate
Our family reuses a lot of things that were used when we were children. Not so much taking home the newbie things though.
Just yesterday while at my 25 y/o daughterโ€™s apartment where I was delivering vegetable soup because she was under the weather, she pulled out the tiny quilted blanket I made for her and she lovingly snuggled it. So much love in that blanket (and in the soup).
That is a very nice idea, great execution and amazing outcome! I think OP should definitely consider it. Time Capsule FTW!
