OK i think the best way to fly to Shanghai from Orlando is Orlando > LA > Hawaii > Tokyo > Shanghai this way the longest leg ( Hawaii to Tokyo ) is about 8.5 hours which is barely acceptable in terms of how long i am willing to suffer ... also fuel economy for air travel begins to drop for flights over 3,000 miles long due to weight of extra fuel that the plane must carry for long flights ... Hawaii to Tokyo is about 3,800 miles so just outside of optimal but not by much ... i would also take an extra day of hotel in Hawaii and Tokyo each to rest before and after that longer flight so i am not exhausted ... so it would take 6 days total ...
