We love this about you. But you're not engaging seriously with the arguments. You're claiming that you know BIP-110 will fail to take majority hashpower, and also that it is a bad idea. If you've engaged with the arguments seriously, you would not be confident in that position at all. No matter how much fools like Peter Todd want to convince you that you're too stupid to engage intellectually with this thing, that's just wrong. Fuck their elitism. Think for yourself.

I haven’t talked to Peter about this at all… haven’t even seen him tweet about this (maybe algo just not showing me). Point is, I *am* thinking for myself. If I was letting other people think for me I’d be pro bip110 since that’s what many influencers are doing to farm engagement.
No I'm saying Peter is an extreme version of the whole mentality around Core. I'm saying you've adopted some of his appeals to trusting the devs, not that you've just let him think for you. I'm saying people like that who disrespect nodes completely, their philosophy about this is wrong. I'm not saying that you don't think for yourself at all, I'm saying that you're putting way too much stock in the ideas of people who don't even respect you, or anyone. And that last statement you made does not follow at all. Most influencers and people in the spotlight are either avoiding this subject like the plague or being actively against BIP-110. I don't see any reason you would fall into supporting it just for clout.
Please don't take this as an insult. I am just trying to have a productive conversation and I'm very disagreeable. You seem to be a man with integrity who forms his own opinions on things. That's why I'm talking to you at all.
Peter hasn't said jack shit about this stuff for a year as far as I know, but I remember you talking with him before, and that mentality, of "Everyone else is stupid and therefore I ought to be able to unilaterally overrule them on everything (even though I have imperfect knowledge myself)" - that **arrogance** is part of the whole Core ethos nowadays. Core are lying. There's no consistency in their arguments. Mull it over and you'll see what I mean. I also urge you to listen to Mechanic's arguments because, unlike some, he articulates and entertains both sides of the argument and readily gives reasons to back up every single thing. Something anti-BIP-110 people have not sufficiently done through this whole debate.
