If you don't update, nothing changes > the power of Bitcoin.
If you would want to change, you can do so in the menu without the need to re-download the blockchain. It just changes the client software.
I’ve uninstall knots, redownloaded core and set the version to 29.2 / 83 byte. I don’t understand enough of the technicals to pick a side so this is my set up until the best path forward is clear
Very good strategy! Don't update unless you know what you're doing.
Running a node with either older version is still helping to keep Bitcoin decentralized and secure. And you can do everything like any other node.
