RISC-V CPUs are a thing.
Not a very high-performing thing, but they are open hardware...
that is going to be the next scope of my researches before i go full alex jones mental
stay tuned mate
altho we all know that arm processors rule if we dont count apples cpus that i dont know much about, is it a unique architecture? also a next thing to add to my research
LOL well I bought a RISC-V dev board, but haven't actually done anything with it except make sure it powers on.
Will be putting my own Buildroot-based Linux on it, but still getting that working just right on ARM first :)
Yup, and great, keep us updated!
i think im gonna buy something with risc-v on it i love the idea
right now the best "freedom tech" i have is an intel cpu tablet pc with linux on it, i love it actually especially with its wacom pen, would be great to see something like that in smartphone size but with a cpu that is not gatekeeped by the mofos
it seems that risc-v cpus are gonna be a thing by the ai industry so i think they have a bright future but big tech is already there and working on it so its on us the people if we are getting there to make things as well for risc v or delulu ouserlves with the arm based shit tsunami
There are even smaller and simpler CPUs that can be instantiated on an FPGA, which is as close to DIY-ing a CPU as plebs are likely to get.
I own a "Precursor" that actually does this, have compiled it myself, but I want to go smaller and more hands-on.
An 8-bit CPU on an Ice40 using an all-open-source toolchain the the dream, but might be a while...
well i dont want ai shit i want stuff that work in small sizes and are not gatekeeped and i can work with it and have fun again with kompoooterz lol, i dont want kompooterz to do stuff they assume i want but actually i dont lol
commodore 64 but with rtx 3060 lol
