Cashu is fully custodial just like Fediment. You have to trust the mint that holds your funds for you. There are some sites to look at the past reputation of popular mints, but no guarantee they won't rug later. Only real measure to "reduce risk" is to spread out your funds to multiple mints, but then you are just spreading the risk around. Higher odds of being rugged, but less impact if it's only some funds.
