Tucker Carlson: “If the United States is the strongest military in the world, why can’t it force Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz? The reality is—we’re not as powerful as we’ve claimed. How did this so-called ‘primitive country’ manage to humiliate us? That’s not just embarrassing—it’s dangerous, because it invites further aggression. We need to confront what actually happened here. No more pretending. No more lies.”

The US underestimated the Iranian government chain of command and fanatical religious further. Had the US considered this would be a longer was, the Strait of Hormuz would have been secured at commencement. There is also a reluctance to put boots on the ground, albeit perhaps that will be necessary depending on negotiations. The two weeks also gives the US time to reassess and consider alternatives. Whether continued conflict is worth it continued containment like the previous decades.
