you should definitely make a trip out of that socialist hellhole and visit #madeira - the proportion of nostriches among the bitcoiners is very high. there is also a weekly event here, bitcoin walk, run by these nice polish people, a local guy often now is providing legit madeira style bbq for the after-walk gathering, as well as the monthly meetup at Andre Loja's coworking space. the dude is the main reason we got so many bitcoiners and nostriches migrating here, the SEC gang with all their silly ideas, and the bitcoin atlantis conference last year was all mostly down to his advocacy work.

i came here to the island specifically so when i felt like it i could go hang out with people who know what's going on, not that i'm that sociable, and i live a long way out of the way to go anywhere near where most of them are though. mainly because madeirans on the south side of the island are noisy shits that drive me nuts with their racket. here in the north everyone is chill, and a bit soggy, but at least they are quiet. lots of native madeirans on this side too, who used to live in south africa but left when the commies started their black supremacy
