did anyone on nostr know there is a nationwide work/school/shopping "boycott" re: ICE? i guess the idea is: harming small, local businesses in your neighborhood who depend on every sales dollar and are probably community hubs of connection and value storage and distribution is an effective guard against federal tendancies toward tyranny? i found out by word of mouth from someone who sacrifices part of their time and spirit to centralized megacorp social media in order to learn how to build grassroots resiliency.

Yes I've heard about it a couple times in last day. Someone asked me if I wanted to join in today...
It would be more effective to find a way to buy something in cash or Bitcoin from someone you know won't report the taxes on that sale.
Just like the US map where you see little blue areas surrounded by massive red areas. We don't care. We are busy building the United States. 🀑🌎 is not important.

How come "stop paying taxes" is never the protest method?
That said... I do believe the people going to these events are mostly earnest and not consciously performative. I don't actually agree that the strategy is an effective one, so it nets out to "performative", but I believe they think they are doing something real.

Apparently teachers are walking out at 3 today? Isn’t that when they normally walk out?
