Except it's not writing its own code. It's taking bits and pieces of code that already exist and cutting them up and pasting them together to make slop until it gets something that almost works at which people humans come in and fix everything.

This is like saying that "the chat bot is writing its own language" (in reality the chat bot is failing to write in English)
