Repairs and Detailing Her to Within an Inch of Her Life: Getting Her Road Ready! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿงฝ๐Ÿš™ Last week I started detailing my new 2022 Corolla Cross and found a little water pooled under the spare tire in the back... and that's no bueno. I removed everything and there was rusty brown gunk everywhere. This is after I started cleaning it... image Cleaned and dried the spare and the cargo area... image Got in the back with a flashlight and had someone spray the rear area with a hoseโ€”no leaks. Drove it to the store, and found fresh water pooled in the cargo space again... image Lifted the driver's side paneling and saw water under the foam padding... image My new custom fit seat covers from EKR arrived, so I started installing them... Got to the back seat and found a little rust on the driver's side of the metal bar and on the seat cloth when I removed it, the hook-clip was also busted... Cleaned the rust off the bar with Chemical Guys AllClean+ and 0000 steel wool, then protected it from coming back with WD-40 Specialist Corrosion Inhibitor... Cleaned the rust stain off the bottom of the cloth seat... image I brought it back to the dealership, waited 6 hours and they fixed the loose rubber gasket behind the paneling that was causing the leaks, and ordered replacement hook-clips and push rivets + extra sets for good measure. Thank you, platinum extended warranty! My custom fit phone mount arrived from ProClip USA, so I installed it. I love it! It's made in Sweden and slides right between the grooves in the paneling for a perfect fit... Went back to the dealership on Friday for some touch-up paint. OEM clips and push rivets arrived, so I reassembled the cargo area and put the spare back in... Finished installing the seat covers and reinstalled the back seat with the new clip... Went to SafeLite to have a window chip repaired yesterday. Today, I do the floor mats and finish detailing! ๐Ÿ˜Ž P.S. This Fantik Slim V8 Apex fits in the glove compartment and is a great little spot cleaning vacuum/blower to keep in the car. image #IKITAO #AvasBuild #DigitalNomad #MysticRubberTramp

I'm following to see what your solutions for privacy are for this vehicle. I assume you had practical purposes for purchasing but, the telematics are pretty baked in by law for these later model vehicles. I can't speak to Toyota specifically. I've had friends have their telemeatics modules (literally the name of the module in some Stelantis owned vehicles) fail (or removed) and cause a no-start condition. I also haven't been part of the automotive reverse engineering world for a couple of years so I'm not sure how much has changed.
