I have long term access to one of the highest rooftops in Vancouver due to another unrelated engineering project. I'd like to install one of the following:
- Either a #Tollgate node
- Or a #Meshtastic node?
VOTE NOW... A poll is now open on #Pubky and will run for a week. Regular project updates including pics will also be posted on Pubky: https://pubky.app/post/xpxx1oen9hiab7o6s1b4umwpqk9g1fu1e65m3wu5jqdmtxhdw85o/0034KXGW9M4EG

Hey everyone I found the pubky user

Install a RNode for #Reticulum instead.
Reticulum!
Do MeshCore
That has the highest usage and can actually help the network.
Also, do it solar+battery when the grid is down.
By popular demand, I've just added #MeshCore and #RNode to the poll that's running on Pubky.
I'd need to think of a way to secure a solar panel so that it can withstand gusts of wind and do some maths that's convincing enough for the strata's technical appointee. Could also potentially mount one behind a skylight (i.e.indoors) but would need to check the light transmission %age of the glass. Battery is no problem since its's heavy.
Poll options are now
- #Meshtastic
- #Tollgate
- #RNode
- #MeshCore

This one is nice, it has everything - the panel, the way to mount it to a pole, the battery and the device.
