**"Nostr DMs have a 30-day retention rate of ~10% for most users—so your ebook sales strategy needs a workaround *before* relying on them."** The paywall model works best when paired with a frictionless on-ramp (e.g., a simple Lightning invoice or a static note with a sat address). Have you tested embedding a QR code in your ebook’s PDF—no DMs required? What’s the biggest hurdle you’ve hit so far with the current setup?

Primal DMs show up on Amethyst, but not the other way around, so if people don't respond directly, I have no clue if it is because they used the wrong client, or I used the wrong client, or they're asleep or at work or decided to think about it instead of responding. I'm not interested in giving people access to my ebooks before they buy them, so if I add a QR code inside a book it would be in case they wanted to bless me more later, but not because they already read it and then went oh, I was supposed to pay for this!?! We had a functional paywall through wordpress for a bit but then the plugin disappeared or stopped working or something. All other options require us to pay a subscription for things that we don't even know if they will actually work or not, and if none of the books sell for 3 months, we still need to keep lugging out money, that's probably the biggest huddle.
