About a year or so ago, I did a mindfulness day where I meditated with Tibetan Monks
The setting was a small, elite Christian college near where I grew up
I sat at the back of the room and wouldn’t you know my luck about halfway through the talk a very tall, random WASPy looking man takes his seat right next to me of all seats
He begins to become very disruptive challenging the monks about Jesus’ lost years and how it is rumored Jesus actually was a Buddha
When we left, I watched him walk to his car (a BMW m5) and speed away
I have no idea what all of this means except for I think about it a lot
