When you spend it you are subject to capital gains tax which MUST be paid in fiat. Bitcoin is worse than fiat cash. Less private and more costly. Bitcoiners pretend capital gains doesn't exist. Unless you live in El Salvador Bitcoin is less sovereign and more expensive than the equivilent value in dollars even in digital dollars the moment you want to spend it.
