Precision is important. A "Core Developer" is someone who consistently contributes to Core, generally as their primary occupation. A "Core Contributor" is anyone who has ever made a code contribution to the repository. I average one trivial code contribution per year. I'm a contributor but by no means a developer.

He isn't but he has huge influence on the current core devs. He is commenting on changes. See here, after the backlash from Plebs, Schmidty decided to revert the deprecation of datacarrier size configuration option to make the malware Core v30 more acceptable. Slopp of course immediately signaled that he is fine with that becuase defaults are what matters. Majority of Core devs and just VC and shitcoiners cucks. image
