why do you feel that lightning has failed?

Lightning has failed to fix most of it's original security concerns from my understanding please correct me if I'm wrong. The lighting net work would be a success if at least we say continuous development. It's been pretty stagnant. So basically the main thing is with Lightning net work you basically rely on trusted 3rd party's 99% of the time. Please excuse if im wrong.

Lightning is complicated and the average user doesn’t have the patience or desire to figure it out, so third parties exist to make it more usable. I enjoy running nodes and figuring things out, but I know I’m not the average user.

you should not have to become a rocket surgeon to be sovereign. even if were easy the system of lightning still requires you to interact with a UTXO to be sovereign and there's not enough room for everyone. I don't like payment channel solutions anyway. if lightning is the best L2 that bitcoin developers can come up with you are in for some trouble down the road. sovereignty is really what gives bitcoin its shine.

Ya Lightning is great but like for example right Lighting was so hyped with big money behind it right? But like silent payments just improved on paynym but no one talks about it. So development is happening and I love to see it but it's like a race and the person in the lead doesn't always cross the finish 1st. So Lightning has the lead but well we what happens long term

Micropayments have a cost and that cost is infrastructure, and centralization risk. Anyone telling you otherwise is probably not being honest.

I dig that man I really do. I think bitcoin can tackle micropayments.... The answer isn't clear as of rn. Bitcoin has more important issues its solving and I completely understand that. The bitcoin network as a whole is a successful peace of Software without a shadow of a doubt. Satoshi create a break through so advanced we have yet to understand its implications and probably need another 30 years to fully grasp it.
