That's true. While Trump's base wanted the files out, he himself was mixed on the issue (knowing he's in them). He was hedging from the start.
From 2024 when asked if he'd release the Epstein files: "Yeah, yeah, I would. I guess I would... I think that, less so, because you don't want to affect people's lives if it's phony stuff in there".
Fortunately bitcoin is open source, so no, none of what's in the files affects my view of bitcoin.

An administration and DOJ was never going to release on their own no matter who was president. Even in the past JFK files were released in early 90s by an act of Congress.
An act of law required DOJ to release and quite honestly they weren’t prepared to — which is why the dump has been a bit messy and taking a long time.
But huge, huge kudos to reps Khanna and massie for the political will to do this.
Congress has lots of power if they want to use it. The problem is it’s almost always usually captured by the president if theres a slight majority to his side. Massie and Khanna just have 0 fuck left to give (especially massie). And then may of the good ones just usually leave.
Anyone with critical thinking skills that watched The Blacklist and Scandal are not even remotely surprised by these networks.

I like to keep my distance from federal-scale politics, and view much of it as Kabuki theatre/Kayfabe for the mass-audience.
But (and in that light) I find the pov interesting that Trump orchestrated his “falling out” with Elon Musk at least partly so he could ask Musk to post that famous tweet about Trump being a major figure in the Epstein files.
Trump clearly uses Trump Derangement Syndrome as a ring-in-the-nose for millions of people (much like other such issues like Abortion have been used by both parties for decades). The Epstein files were being continually stonewalled, especially by liberals - UNTIL Musk hinted that Trump would be damned in them. And like clockwork suddenly Dems cannot get them posted fast enough.
If Trump was actually indicted in, why weren’t at least the specific references posted years ago? Plus, Trump has repeatedly said early on that he wasn’t dumb enough to get caught-up in the whole Epstein honey-pot. So I personally can’t believe theres anything substantial in the files about him, or insiders would have used that info to destroy him years ago.
So I like to toy with the idea that Trump worked with Musk to re-vitalize the drive for disclosure by simply tweeting that exposing those files would be damning to Trump. It’s an elegant stroke (much like how Trump subjugated the entire globe by simply Tweeting tariffs into existence, and inciting every world leader to bend the knee to him to avoid such).
At any rate, what is inarguable is that now, suddenly, all the people who pointedly ignored those files for years have bent the knee and are screaming loudly for their disclosure. And only and solely because Musk promised them that disclosure would destroy Trump.
It’s really theater, with politicians being poor actors.

I think Lyn is on the verge of a epiphany that democratic socialism and worker Co-Ops are next step in societal organization. Judging by the books and posts coming out. I’m not saying democratic socialism and worker Co-Ops is the final destination or end all be all. But, Lyn is far too smart, especially with engineering specialists, to not see the dynamic advantages. AI will be the catalyst that highlights the current systems flaws.
