All i can speak is from me personally, but its more of a “people are wrong on the internet” and i feel compelled to defend sipa et al from lies and defamation. Calling it “panicking” is just a label you are applying. And an inaccurate one. core devs can sleep at night knowing they are doing the right thing for bitcoin, even in the face of a sustained misinformation campaign against them.
