Remember, the American independence day is celebrating the declaration that we were free from of British rule.
The country wasn't actually formed until May 29, 1790, when the constitution was signed. These states were not united until that point.
This means the county won't really turn 250 until the year 2040.
Sorry to bring facts into this emotional topic, but if you care to celebrate these historical events, you really should know what it is you are celebrating.

Fuckin’ buzzkill, lol…
So... never mind, I guess, that in that very document that declared freedom from British rule, the signees thereof also declared themselves to be "the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA"?
those were the golden years, before the constitution!
That's a good a reminder
Poor take, we aren't celebrating the creation of the federal government, we are celebrating independance.
Also, we would have been better off with the articles. The constitution is a shit coin.
Read it again, pal. I'm encouraging people to celebrate independence.
But the county still isn't 250 years old. If you don't understand the difference, I don't have any more time to convince you, sorry.
They didn't need to be united. They had a loose federation and arguably more freedom for it. At it is "Independence Day" not "Constitution Signing Day"
Yes, sister. We are saying the same thing: Celebrate independence.
