I kind of get that vibe now. But I never really saw it until his response to my comment. I knew he was a Nazi (or at least a sympathizer, but I’ve seen many of those that can at least entertain arguments. And the Nazis succeeded in their time for a reason—they are right about some things that modern society is dead wrong about. But BOY I see what you mean about him being incapable of independent thought. He strawmanned me as a rad leftie for having the slightest disagreement.
