Could be an opportunity for nostr to help make social media less shitty. 1/3 of US gets their news from Facebook. 13% from Twitter. That’s a lot of people constantly bombarded with negative media. Endless scrolling TikTok’s and instagrams, seeing everyone’s life highlights can make anyone feel less happy. Combine with all of the factors that stem from broken money, it’s a recipe for disaster.

We have a serious mental health epidemic. Stay healthy plebs. Mind, Body, Soul. 💜🧡 US suicides hit an all-time high last year About 49,500 people took their own lives last year in the U.S., the highest number ever. That's according to new government data posted Thursday.

Or, we could make the, I don't know, world, better? Or are we that far gone? Ppl need freedom! They need the ability to eat what they want! Do, what they want! Travel, where they want! Express themselves how they want! We need the ability to connect with others on a much better level? Everyone is tied down, confined by "money restraints" & stress of having to survive is such a hell hole of a dangerous society (w so much madness) & then on top of that are dumbed down to the maximum degree making things so complicated & difficult I don't think the solution to an INSANE number of suicides is to tweak social media. Really gotta dig down & address the root of the issue which is all the restraints ppl have around 'em (including stress) image
You’re both right. There shouldn’t be disagreement here! To @HoloKat point social media is one avenue to tackle, as the problem needs to be broken down and met where people are. People are on social media. Builders on Nostr have an opportunity here. There are other ways to help and people who are or can be of service there should have at it. Just my 2 sats.
