Not that I object, but the most important aspect of punishment that’s missing is castration.

It's really not about what they deserve. It's about purging an instinctive reproductive strategy from the gene pool.

I can’t imagine something like this would have survived in the early stages of evolution when we lived in tribes. Maybe it’s a problem unique to modernity?
Rape has always been common during inter-group conflicts, even if it was policed within group (which I doubt was universal).
I was talking more about children but maybe they didn’t care about that either
