The total lightning node count trend did a sharp reversal in July. Obviously the tech has always been strong, but what changed in July? image h/t nostr:nprofile1qqsz4uq7p44arw0mh83agv2h6ezep7e8mnau403g0p99svhp00hms7cpzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qg4waehxw309aex2mrp0yhxgctdw4eju6t09uq3uamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3dwp6kytnhv4kxcmmjv3jhytnwv46z7gfeph5 #lightning

Agree. I think interest in running a lightning node increased due to Square's announcement that they will use lightning.

Blockchain size reached nearly 1tb in July which forced many node owners to upgrade their SSD up to 2tb. The size growth was a disappointing concern for many weeks leading to less investment in the node support. Then in July many nodes stopped forcing owners to upgrade giving more room for optimism, experiments and further LN studies.
