I go on X, and it's straight fear and FUD, like 'Saylor is going to sell, we are going to $30,000.' Meanwhile, on Nostr, it's GM gang as usual. Never change, Nostr πŸ’œ

Imagine panic selling your Bitcoin because you went on X and influencers were saying Saylor sold because he moved coins....... image

There is no greater peace than my daughter smiling at me. No matter how shit the day was, seeing her smile and laugh makes it a great one.

I have been daily driving the Minimal phone for 3 weeks now. I tried to do this months ago, but the software was so bad. Last month, they finally pushed an update to fix a lot of the issues that were driving me crazy, and it's at a point now where you can daily drive it. If you have a doom scrolling addiction or just want to use your phone less, this is the perfect phone. My screen time is down from 3-4 hours per day to 1 hour. The phone is Android, and you can download any app you want. The Minimal launcher is not bad - it has a list of important apps on the front screen, which is super clean. They have a swipe right or swipe left feature on the home screen that you can set to certain apps. I got swipe left for email and swipe right for Telegram - yes, I know Telegram is not ideal, but that's sadly what my friends still use. I use the key mapper app to have keyboard shortcuts for all the other apps to launch, so Sym+N short press launches Amethyst and long press launches Primal. The good thing is that even if you download and log into social media apps on the phone, the limitation of the hardware and screen makes using those apps way worse, so you end up not wanting to use them, which I see as a good feature for those with poor self-control. I did not sign into X on this device, so it's the longest I have gone without wasting time scrolling on there. Kind of wild how much better you feel not doom scrolling. Saving an extra two hours per day now, not looking at the screen, means more real time with my daughter, which is the biggest win. Mobile phones have got to make their way back to being communication and work devices. The only downside to this device is that the camera sucks, so I have to reach for another device to take pictures and videos of my daughter during special moments. One day someone will ship one of these type of devices with a decent camera. Its such a big feature on phones now that most people wont even consider a phone without a good camera. I am seeing more of the youth wanting dumb phones and digital detox, which is encouraging. Hats off to the builders of these wonky devices trying to solve real-world issues with cool hardware. I used to love my BlackBerry because I'd only use it to communicate, and this device is amazing for that. This gives me the ability to have everything I need in modern living - the apps - but with way less flash and attention-grabbing features. It's more intentional use, and I love it. Other things to mention, hardware-wise, the battery life has been decent, like a day and a half, but honestly, I thought it would last longer with the eink display. 2-4 days, like the old days, would be awesome. Maybe one day, one of these phone makers can partner with the GrapheneOS people and have phones ship with GrapheneOS out of the box. I heard a rumor that the Nothing phone might do that - we shall see. If you've thought about trying this phone, I think it's worth it, but just know it's not a Pixel, and that's the whole point of the device. Thank you for coming to my TED talk, lol.

My daughter said her first word, "daddy", last week. Life is good.
