-It's not a cup but it is a vessel
-There isn't only one
-It isn't something one finds; it is something one becomes

@whit I've thought about my response here and I want to apologize for perhaps coming off too harsh. It sucked being homeless and having to find ways to manage to have even the basics. I don't mean to suggest that the world would be better off without furries. I personally have zero interest in that culture and find it to be as wasteful as a lot of things like cigarettes or lottery tickets. I'm pretty sure I played a few lottery games when I was 18, mostly just because I couldn't for 18 years and then all of a sudden I could. Likewise, I've tried cigarettes before but that only confirmed that they're horrible in every way.
Wasting money is the path back to homelessness and destitution and after I was able to get back on my feet, I basically said "never again". That wasn't just a trauma response. That was a promise to myself that I would take the opportunities that came my way and learn more about financial management, inflation, investing, etc. To put this in perspective, I limped along with a mostly broken domestic water heater for at least a couple years rather than paying for a replacement. I'm willing to be an absolute bastard to myself in terms of austerity measures. I've heard that if you're willing to eat shit long enough, you can eat caviar for the rest of your life. Likewise, I've heard that life is like a shit sandwich: the more bread you have, the less shit you have to eat.
I'm well out of the woods, but, I can still see the woods and have no desire to backtrack towards them. Allocating time and money towards playing dress up is not a productive use of my time...not when my research has the potential, on a long enough timeline, to move humanity closer to peace by rugpulling legacy religious dogmatists who masquerade as pious while cheerleading bullets and bombs flying in the name of God.
Thank you for offering your talents and services but, as I said, I couldn't be any less interested. I'm glad you enjoy cosplay but I can't justify the time or expense in my personal economic calculus, and I apologize for coming off too harshly. Frankly, I just wanted to make it abundantly clear that I was not investigating the matter because I had any interest in it. It was a random online conversation in a libertarian community that kind of blew my mind and I figured that Bitcoiners on NOSTR would have been just as shocked and appalled by such fruitless and extravagant allocation of resources as I was.
I'm prone to posting here about how there is a chasm between devs and normies/noobs when it comes to NOSTR and Bitcoin related tech usage. I think we're all out of touch with one another and I thought it would have been interesting to highlight just how out of touch furries are with Bitcoiners when it comes to resource allocation, especially when Bitcoiners are prone to post memes about how they sold all their chairs and live in empty studio apartments and refuse to fix their cars because that allows them to buy more Bitcoin.
