I created this Nostr profile with some uncertainty as to what I'd post here. Initially I posted a mix of personal stuff and posts that represented Bitcoin Ekasi & The Surfer Kids projects.
But I've now created a separate personal account - @vryfokkenou
You can follow me there if you're curious about Bitcoin and surfing in South Africa or the back story behind Bitcoin Ekasi & The Surfer Kids.
Also, being a recovering drug addict and owing my life to a 12-step recovery program that involves surrender to a higher power, I will inevitably also share a bunch of stuff related to that.

After winning The Surfer Kids Non-Profit their first Gold Medal at the 2025 Grommet Games 🥇, Ave showed true grit in the final—coming from behind with just 4 minutes to go and landing two scoring rides to turn the heat around and secure 2nd place! 🔥
We couldn’t be prouder of him. The future is bright, and we can’t wait to watch this young grom continue to grow in the sport🌊🏄🏽♂️
