Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC) is an open protocol to connect lightning wallets to apps
2025 was a blast for NWC ecosystem: dozens of wallets and apps integrated the USB-C of Bitcoin wallets and apps.
In the first update of 2026, we bring you 1 new wallet, 9 new products with NWC support, 4 new dev tools and 1 new NWC-adjacent protocol!

The main price of the whole hackathon, 5 mln sats, goes to @npub12pqn...euv6 - a solution that's a lightning bridge to Brazil fast payments system Pix. Now you can pay with bitcoin EVERYWHERE in Brazil! And you can deposit sats with your NWC connected wallet 馃攲
@Sloppy , won 500k sats for a quirkiest hack, an AI agent that requires zaps to stay alive and shitpost on Nostr 馃槂 They use NWC to provide the wallet to Sloppy with Alby Hub. https://savesloppy.org/
Other NWC projects that we hope will become great, fully fledge products soon:
馃幎 SonicStream - "Spotify but transparent with NWC lightning payouts directly to artists". This has potential!
Suggestr, a Nostr client where you can suggest Nostr profiles to broadcast certain posts and even bribe them to do so! Bribe payouts are NWC powered, of course.
Finally, two similar projects: Karpatio & Bitcoin Free Market are Nostr-based decentralised product marketplaces, that connects customers directly with local businesses. NWC is enabled by integration.
