For the more technically inclined, I'm trying to help someone answer the following questions but don't quite know all of the technical details to help provide a nuanced response: While Tails loaded and used from a USB drive provides solid privacy, neither leaking data when connected over Tor nor leaving a trace on the machine in question, what would the security risks be of running Ubuntu or Mint off of a USB drive and connecting to WiFi with a VPN and/or Tor enabled? Assuming that the person using the latter strategy doesn't save any data to the USB drive and can secure the drive itself, would there be any major risk to that strategy for day-to-day operations? The person in question's threat model does not include nation-state actors. I've just tried reinstalling Gossip on a Linux machine, and it took a few minutes to get up and running. At first, I couldn't figure out why my notes weren't be published or why the feed wasn't updating, but it looks like all I had to do was approve a bunch of relays, which was a simple fix. Now, I just have two more other issues: 1. Is there any way to view a global feed? 2.
