For the more technically inclined, I'm trying to help someone answer the following questions but don't quite know all of the technical details to help provide a nuanced response:
While Tails loaded and used from a USB drive provides solid privacy, neither leaking data when connected over Tor nor leaving a trace on the machine in question, what would the security risks be of running Ubuntu or Mint off of a USB drive and connecting to WiFi with a VPN and/or Tor enabled?
Assuming that the person using the latter strategy doesn't save any data to the USB drive and can secure the drive itself, would there be any major risk to that strategy for day-to-day operations?
The person in question's threat model does not include nation-state actors. The person simply wants to gain a bit more privacy when connecting to work laptops or public machines when out and about.

I just stumbled upon @FreeFrom Offical English Community via the global feed, and it looks like a pretty sleek mobile client for both iOS and Android. The theme song they've got playing on their website is admittedly rather catchy too!
Anyone tried it out yet?
Fellow nostriches, how many of you are on a (nearly?) full Bitcoin standard?
Alternatively, when you hear 'living on a Bitcoin standard', what does that look like in your day-to-day life?

#education #learning #reading #books #bookstr #libraryLook, I'm not some advanced-level Bitcoin guy, but a small part of me is skeptical about the new Ginger wallet.
Are we that innovative that we're launching something new right away to protect our privacy, even if it's "just a fork"? Or could this be a honeypot? How closely has the community scrutinized the code?
Please prove me wrong!

Damn it. I messing around between too many platforms and overwrote my profile info. Hope I can still find my original profile pic and background.
I've just tried reinstalling Gossip on a Linux machine, and it took a few minutes to get up and running. At first, I couldn't figure out why my notes weren't be published or why the feed wasn't updating, but it looks like all I had to do was approve a bunch of relays, which was a simple fix. Now, I just have two more other issues:
1. Is there any way to view a global feed?
2. I've subscribed to a few Japanese, Thai, and Chinese nostriches, but their posts are showing up like this: ชิปที่เห็นด้านล่างของน้องเข้าไปแล้วเย็บด้ายใหม่ ราคาต่อตัวเท่ากับ. Is there any way to fix this on Gossip?

Dr Pradip Jamnadas just released a new lecture on advanced glycation end products, which exist both in the food we consume as well as are produced by the body itself (such as when we eat a high sugar diet). His talk is quite thorough, but I imagine that there's always room for us to digger deeper. Perhaps this is another topic for @Max DeMarco to explore and experiment with?
