Most mornings, I brew up a strong shot of coffee with this humble little moka pot and bring it to my classroom in a travel mug. After taking off the lid, the pleasant smell of coffee fills the air. However, I may be the only one that thinks so. Some days, students will remark about the "intense smell of coffee". Occasionally, their noses deceive them, and they ask why they smell instant noodles. That seems to be a fairly common thing. Today though, two students came in to drop off their work and ... asked why my room smelled like "spicy pork". A colleague has started to use Google's NotebookLM to produce study guides, a podcast episode, etc. for his students to use. Admittedly, it's a neat little tool, but I do wonder if any FOSS and/or more privacy-related options exist.
