so much of the web is being blocked off from bots because it is based on attention and advertising and lock in platform metrics. bots don't click on ads and they have no platform loyalty. a bot's measure of success is task completion. any company selling attention is now on death watch. ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€ ps: firecrawl allows for bypass of most bot gates

for anyone concerned about hantavirus (andes variant) here is what is actually happening: people are getting sick with similar symptoms and when we sequence a mixture of their their genes plus tissue that supposedly has the virus, we see similar genetic sequences. we extrapolate that there is a full viral genome in that sample but it is all just guess work inference. 1. starting material is a mixture of viral fragments and host material 2. there is no well person sampled as a control just sick people 3. they are not reading one full virus molecule from start to finish they take fragments, without directly knowing their full molecular origin, broke those reads into even smaller overlapping substrings called k-mers, and used those k-mers to reconstruct a longer sequence. 4. none of it proves the existence of a full sample in the mixture taken from a patient. 5. reconstructed genome is not the same thing as a directly observed complete viral molecule.

DOI: 10.1161/STROKEAHA.118.023100 The cohort was 81,714 postmenopausal women aged 50โ€“79 from the Womenโ€™s Health Initiative Observational Study, with a mean follow-up of 11.9 years Compared with women drinking fewer than 1 such beverage per week, those consuming 2+ artificially sweetened drinks per day had a 23% higher risk of any stroke and a 31% higher risk of ischemic stroke from clotting in small brain blood vessels They were also 29% more likely to develop coronary heart disease and had 16% all cause mortality this is an observational study so it is very possible that people drinking diet soda have some other confounder in common causing these issue or it is the ingredients in the soda....

it's very easy to have open claw act as your real estate agent. all housing listings are public and can be crawled from listing sites. You give the bot your criteria for a house -- you give it a price range and you even give it some other information you want such as geography, close to parks, trails brick vs stone materials, school district etc etc. I find the real utility of claw happens when you give your bot an email account (don't use Gmail. they are very aggressive at blocking bots) Instruct your bot to also dig up historic pricing and comparable sales in the same zip so you get real market pricing. The bot should get the listing agent contact for each house and then send you an email weekly with its research. Call the listing agent to schedule a walkthrough, then as you navigate the buying process use your bot so you can learn when you need to do each part of the buying process and make offers with market research backing your offer. bye bye real estate agent fee of 3-6%

unfortunately all the good educational-entertainment content for kids is on youtube these days. using youtube means using their algorithm and perpetual recommendation engines where kids never have to stop watching which is obviously bad. to solve this problem our kids wrote down the list of shows they want to watch and get new episodes. open claw using a naming script, yt-dlp, and scheduled tasks to download all episodes from their channels in nice folders that plex can read. openclaw checks weekly for new episodes and gets them. kids now have advertising free plex to watch their favorite channels.

over and over again, I keep hearing many "elites" complaining that they don't know what is and is not authentically human (because of AI). This is really almost irrelevant to humanity. Never do we care what is authentic or inauthentic if a computer program tells you something that is true and a human tells you something that is false which one is more important? the authentically human falsehood or the truth? truth is the pursuit and the medium which it's conveyed is irrelevant judge everything whether AI generated or human generated under the same standard

Colorectal cancer rates in adults under 50 have been rising about 3% per year High-fructose corn syrup and pesticides disrupt the gut microbiome When fructose (especially high high-fructose corn syrup intake) exceeds what the small intestine can absorb (roughly a daily sodaโ€™s worth), fructose spills into the colon Glyphosate and related agricultural chemicals act like low-dose antibiotics on gut bacteria. They preferentially knock out protective species (Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium) while sparing pro-inflammatory ones, reducing production of butyrate and other short-chain fatty acids that normally protect the colon lining. Human genetics havenโ€™t changed in 30 years, but the microbiome of someone born in 1990 has been marinating in fructose and pesticide residue since infancy in a way someone born in 1950 never was. If the microbiome is the mediator between modern exposures and tumor biology (as this study suggests) it helps explain why a cancer that used to belong to grandparents is now showing up in their grandchildren. image

"Insulin resistance" is one of the most used terms in medicine and also one of the least precise When we say "insulin resistance," we're treating it like a single thing. Insulin does dozens of things in your body. In any given tissue, some insulin-signaling pathways can be impaired while others remain intact. In the liver: hyperinsulinemia drives lipogenesis (making fat) while simultaneously failing to suppress gluconeogenesis (making glucose). The same hormone in the same organ creates two dysfunctional outcomes. In skeletal muscle when fat builds up inside the muscle cells this then blocks the signal insulin uses to tell your muscles ", take in this sugar from the blood." This happens before liver dysfunction In your fat tissue, the problem is basically chronic, low-grade inflammation. When fat cells get overloaded, your immune system treats them almost like an injury and prevents insulin from appropriately releasing fat. Fat cells keep storing sugars as fat but slowly leak the fatty acids back out into the blood even when insulin is high. In the brain, when insulin reaches neurons, it helps tell your brain: "You've eaten you can stop feeling hungry now". The hypothalamus controls this and still gets the signal but can't pass it along properly due to PI3K signaling impairment. In all cases, insulin is the messenger molecule and still gets to its destination properly but all other mechanisms that originate from the insulin signal become dysfunctional. Modern medicine only treats insulin resistance as a way to control blood sugar and ignore all the other organs which are affected due to their chronically inflamed and dysfunctional state.

our genetics are very stable. we don't produce mutants and evolve into new species rapidly. if you see a disease like cancer incidence increasing it isn't because of genetics. people frequently say they just got unlucky when they get cancer. we give ourselves cancer. cancer grows in metabolic dysfunction. we eat ourselves into cancer. we sit ourselves into cancer. we hide inside the caves of our house into cancer. for most cancers, unfortunately we only have ourselves to blame and that is incredibly uncomfortable to think about and why we spend so much time and money finding molecular markers for malignancy that get turned on during our times of metabolic dysfunction.

you've probably had your HDL cholesterol measured. your doctor told you higher is better. 60, 70, 80 โ€” good numbers. here's the problem: HDL cholesterol concentration is a poor proxy for HDL function. HDL's job is reverse cholesterol transport โ€” pulling cholesterol out of peripheral tissues and delivering it to the liver for excretion. That's the cardioprotective mechanism. But a high HDL-C number doesn't tell you whether your HDL is actually functioning. Oxidation to apolipoprotein A-I (apo A-I), HDL's main protein, impairs its ability to interact with cholesterol transporters (ABCA1, ABCG1). Dysfunctional HDL can actually promote atherosclerosis. the studies bear this out: raising HDL-C with drugs doesn't reduce cardiovascular events. torcetrapib raised HDL-C significantly and increased mortality. niacin raises HDL-C but adds no cardiovascular benefit. because the number went up but the function didn't. the emerging measurement is cholesterol efflux capacity (CEC) โ€” how well does your HDL actually pull cholesterol out of cells? that predicts cardiovascular risk better than the raw number. The same thing destroying the body: oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, insulin resistance are the same things impairing HDL function if your HDL is 70 but you're metabolically inflamed, your HDL number is meaningless. more useful is you pCEC score (predicted cholesterol efflux capacity)

Your cells have an energy sensor called AMPK. When it's active, you burn fuel efficiently. When it's suppressed, you store fat and your liver pumps out glucose. Uric acid suppresses AMPK. That means elevated uric acid isn't just a byproduct of metabolic disease โ€” it may be driving it. This is why high fructose corn syrup and fructose added into foods are uniquely damaging. Unlike glucose, which is metabolized in a tightly regulated way, fructose is processed by the liver roughly 10x faster, with no feedback controls slowing it down. That rapid metabolism burns through ATP so quickly that the leftover byproducts get converted into uric acid. Worse, the uric acid then amplifies fructokinase โ€” the very enzyme that processes fructose โ€” creating a vicious cycle where each dose sensitizes your liver to the next one. So the chain is: high fructose corn syrup โ†’ ATP depletion โ†’ uric acid โ†’ AMPK suppressed โ†’ insulin resistance, fat storage, and excess glucose production. The problem was never the sugar per se. It's the uric acid it leaves behind.
