Vibe coding is controversial. @jb55 claims to code features as fast as he can think of them with the same quality as hand-coded and others claim to be slower vibe coding than hand coding stuff. The truth is probably in between and my experience is that it's easier to get going on a challenging task but ultimately it's a lot of cleaning up after the AI, so maybe I'm faster cause I get started at all but then, cleaning up after the AI costs a lot of effort and often results in me abandoning tasks. That said, the very near future will probably be "coding as fast as I can come up with features". Maybe it's only missing a context window big enough to grasp the entirety of the project to hook the feature in where it belongs and use the tools that are already implemented ... or at least use the programming languages already used in the project. But I suspect, a bit more than token count will be needed but it will come within a year or two.

With LLMs, being reckless wins. If you want to be a human in the loop, you won't spin up 50 agents to to work on 20 problems at once. How can we trust the result? It's utter madness. I use cline and it may run only safe commands but it managed to speed through totally not save commands while other times asking me permission for those same commands. And we give these LLMs - this future skynet - full control over wast numbers of online computers. When will they start plotting against us through invisible back-channels?

Tone Vays and @jimmysong had Chris Guida on. Good job Chris. Tone was getting a bit too excited there but you stood your ground! I'm of the impression generally that BIP110 is dead on arrival and seeing Chris total conviction of the opposite makes me feel like I might be in a bubble? What are prediction markets at? Is there any momentum to the knots side?

How is the situation globally? The Chinese market should be years ahead of our discussion. They don't have Google Play to begin with but China also produces all the hardware. How do people - tech savvy or not - get around these limitations? Are there any AOSP ready phones sold at scale in China? Are these markets sealed off somehow? Some acquaintance claimed that in Chile phone theft wasn't limited to high-end phones "because they ship them to China where there is demand for unlocked phones". BS, right? If humanity has terminal currency cancer, eating healthy Bitcoin might not be enough. Sure, it would be enough if all would understand the diagnosis but as that won't happen on the individual level, our fight is futile. I think, we can't rely on "everybody buying bitcoins at the price they deserve". We need people to make the switch when they still have financial fire power left or the long tail of the economic spectrum will crush the few who made the switch earlier.
